Roofing
The DFW metroplex receives more large-hail events per year than almost anywhere else in the United States. Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, and the surrounding cities sit in the heart of Hail Alley — where warm Gulf moisture collides with cold northern air to produce the severe thunderstorms that damage roofs, gutters, siding, and windows with routine regularity. CMN Construction has completed roofing projects throughout the DFW area since 2012, and we approach every roof with the same discipline we bring to every remodel: thorough documentation, quality materials, and in-house execution.
We install architectural (dimensional) asphalt shingles in Class 3 and Class 4 impact-resistant grades — products that can reduce homeowner's insurance premiums by 15–30% annually and are one of the most defensible investments a North Texas homeowner can make. We also work with metal roofing, tile roofing, and flat/low-slope systems for properties with specific aesthetic or performance requirements.
For hail and storm damage claims, our inspections are free, our assessments are honest, and our supplement work on insurance claims consistently recovers material additional settlement for homeowners who would otherwise be underpaid. We replace all flashing, gutters, and ventilation as part of every full roof replacement — never reusing old components on new roofing. Call (214) 997-0887 for a free storm damage inspection.

The DFW metroplex receives more large-hail events per year than almost anywhere else in the United States. Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Garland, and the surrounding cities all sit in the heart of Hail Alley — a stretch of the Great Plains where warm Gulf moisture collides with cold northern air to produce the severe thunderstorms that generate baseball-sized hail with routine regularity. For North Texas homeowners, a roof is not a set-it-and-forget-it investment. It's a system that takes sustained punishment and needs to be in the hands of a contractor who understands both the local weather pattern and the insurance process that follows a major hail event.
Roofing in North Texas — a market shaped by weather
CMN Construction has completed roofing projects throughout the DFW area since 2012, and we approach every roof the same way we approach every remodel: detailed documentation before work begins, quality materials specified for the climate, and execution by an in-house crew — not a fly-by-night crew assembled from whoever is available.
Roof replacement — what materials make sense in the DFW climate
The most common residential roofing material in North Texas is architectural (dimensional) asphalt shingles, and for good reason: they're cost-effective, widely available, code-compliant in every DFW municipality, and available in impact-resistant grades (Class 3 and Class 4) that can reduce homeowner's insurance premiums by 15–30% annually.
Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are one of the most defensible investments a North Texas homeowner can make. The premium over standard architectural shingles is typically $800–$2,000 on a full replacement, and the insurance discount frequently covers that cost within two to three years. We install Class 3 and Class 4 products from manufacturers including GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed, and we provide the documentation your insurance carrier requires to qualify for the impact-resistant discount.
For homes seeking a premium aesthetic — Spanish-style tile roofs, standing seam metal, or copper accents on dormers and porticos — CMN Construction works with all roofing materials. Metal roofing in particular is gaining traction in DFW for its exceptional longevity (50+ years), Class 4 impact rating, and dramatically reduced maintenance requirements. We assess the structural loading requirements and HOA compatibility of any non-standard roofing system before specifying it.
Hail damage repair — what's covered, what's not, and how we help
After a major hail event in the DFW area, the volume of roofing contractors — including many from out of state who follow storm systems — creates a difficult environment for homeowners trying to make good decisions under time pressure. CMN Construction's approach is straightforward: we inspect your roof honestly, document what we find in writing with photographs, and tell you whether the damage warrants an insurance claim.
If it does, we prepare a complete scope-of-repair estimate and submit it directly to your adjuster. We attend the adjuster inspection and point out every covered item — not just the obvious ones. When the initial settlement is incomplete (which is common), we submit supplements with supporting documentation and code references. We've managed hail claims on hundreds of DFW roofs and know where adjusters typically undercount.
If the damage doesn't rise to the level of a claim, we tell you that too. Small areas of isolated hail impact can often be repaired without a full replacement, and recommending an unnecessary full replacement just to generate revenue is not how we operate. Our reputation in this market is built on honest assessments, and that doesn't change when hail season is at its busiest.
Gutters, ventilation, and the system around the roof
A roof replacement is an opportunity to assess and upgrade the systems that work alongside the roofing material. Gutters and downspouts in the DFW area take a beating from the same hail that damages shingles — dented gutter faces, crushed downspouts, and bent hangers are standard hail damage items that should be addressed as part of any storm-related roof replacement. We install seamless aluminum gutters in standard and oversized profiles, with appropriate downspout sizing for the roof's drainage area.
Roof ventilation is particularly important in North Texas, where attic temperatures can reach 150°F+ in summer. Inadequate ventilation accelerates shingle aging from below, contributes to ice dam formation in winter freeze events, and significantly increases cooling costs. CMN Construction assesses ridge vent, soffit vent, and power vent configurations on every roof replacement and recommends upgrades where the existing ventilation falls short of code or practical performance standards.
Flashing — the metal system that seals the roof at penetrations, valleys, and transitions — is where most roof leaks originate. We replace all flashing as part of every full roof replacement, including chimney step flashing, pipe boot flashings, and drip edge. Reusing old flashing on a new roof is a common shortcut that creates call-backs within a few years.
